Our Story

At 40, Amara Bennett, founder of Soleya, lives in Toronto, Ontario.

For years, Amara loved the confidence that a little colour on her lips could bring.

But as a Black woman, finding the right lipstick was never as simple as it should have been.

Some shades looked too bright or unnatural against her skin tone. Others left her lips feeling dry and uncomfortable. And too often, lipsticks that promised to flatter every woman simply didn't feel made for her.

Eventually, she found herself wearing lipstick less and less.

But Amara wasn't ready to give up on something that had always made her feel beautiful.

She simply wanted a lipstick that worked with her natural beauty, instead of asking her to change it.

That's what inspired her to create Soleya.

A colour-adapting lipstick designed to bring out a flattering, natural-looking shade while keeping lips feeling soft and comfortable.
